June 2018 - Issue 66

Boer volgens jou Ritme

Hoppies Uys (Voorsitter BLWK)

Farm to your own rhythm

We visited really interesting and variable farms during our tour to the Reitz regenerative agriculture conference. I realised that we as famers differ in our challenges, unique surroundings and diverse personalities, but we all strive towards sustainability in our farming. I hope that the June newsletter inspires you anew to farm to your own unique rhythm. Remember to join us for our annual conference on the 7th and 8th of August 2018.

Thank you again for being a part of conservation agriculture. Kind regards

May 2018 - Issue 65

Hallo Almal
is.

Hallo Everybody
Rainfall in the last month was very scattered and some areas in the Swartland
received good showers, while other areas and the southern Cape has been dry. The
trials at Langgewens as well as the new trial at Hopefield has germinated well. The
trials at Riversdale and in the Napky, between Swellendam and Malagas, has had
extremely little rain since planting. Planting at Riversdale was done on a little bit of
stored moisture and has received 1.1mm since then. The Napky trial received about
4mm. At both sites some of the crops has emerged. We trust that the rain will fall.
We would also like to remind you all about our CAWC conference in August.
Unfortunately the day of lectures will not be held at Elsenburg and we are therefore
looking for a new venue. The practical day will be held at Tygerhoek Research Farm
near Riviersonderend. Several interesting trials will be visisted during the day.
Kind regards

April 2018 - Issue 64

Hallo Almal

Planttyd is hier.

Hallo Everybody

The planting season has arrived and a good number of producers has started planting canola and fodder crops. The canola in the long term cropping trials at Langgewens has also been planted along with the cover crops. While writing this newsletter the prospects are that some rain will fall during the next few days. It is our sincere hope that our production season will fully up and running with this rain. Good luck to all our producers and their respective support teams.
The March tour to Reitz was a huge success. Inside the newsletter you will find a short summary of the tour. During the year we will chat to all the tour members on their tour experience and what they have learned.

Kind regards

March 2018 - Issue 63

Hallo Almal
