Voorwoord

Hallo Almal

Hi All

Almost everywhere in die Western Cape a planter or planters has been seen. The Swartland received some varying rain during Easter weekend. The crop rotation trials planting season has started. The Riversdale site is still bone dry and we expected to be planting there from middle May.

During the February CAWC tour and at last year’s conference we started recognizing leaders and initiators of CA around the country. We thought it important to include a part of the wording on the recognition in this issues intro just to remind us what we are busy with.

Recognition was given to Danie Slabbert, Izak Dreyer, Egon Zunckel, Johan Bouwer, Roland Kroon and Chris Roux.

“Recognition of contribution to the extension of Conservation Agriculture principles, the promotion of sustainable crop production, healthy soil and the strengthening of the rural economy”.
