November 2020 – Issue 86

Hallo Almal

Hi All

We took a small brake during October and did not publish a newsletter, but we are back. Harvest has been under way for a long time now and excellent yields have been reported. Rumors would have it that the 2020 harvest will be the biggest wheat yield in 19 years. Although yields have been sky high all over the province some issues have been reported. In the Swartland grading in a number of cases have been a grade or two lower due to lower wheat protein levels. In the southern cape barley had split kernel issues and rain during the harvest period has lowered hectoliter mass of wheat. We however are still ubundently thankful for the season that we have had. The conservation agriculture trials across the province have also done well, but more about that in the January issue of the newsletter. Enjoy the November newsletter.
