Hallo Almal
Hallo Everybody
Rainfall in the last month was very scattered and some areas in the Swartland received good showers, while other areas and the southern Cape has been dry. The trials at Langgewens as well as the new trial at Hopefield has germinated well. The trials at Riversdale and in the Napky, between Swellendam and Malagas, has had extremely little rain since planting.
Planting at Riversdale was done on a little bit of stored moisture and has received 1.1mm since then. The Napky trial received about 4mm. At both sites some of the crops has emerged. We trust that the rain will fall.
We would also like to remind you all about our CAWC conference in August.
Unfortunately the day of lectures will not be held at Elsenburg and we are therefore looking for a new venue. The practical day will be held at Tygerhoek Research Farm near Riviersonderend. Several interesting trials will be visisted during the day.
Kind regards
